I spent my 1st 40 years in North western, Maine. I tell people here, when we decided we'd had enough winter, we packed up and drove south until we had warm enough temps to wear shorts all day in May. Then we dorve anouther day. ended up here and have never wanted to move back,
...and living in Arkansas, you appreciate the same weather we enjoy in Texas...that is, when the weather is >behaving< Chris
You never said anything last month. I could've brought one with me to Canada. I have a couple. One is with the toggle switch. Th other ones I have are for the factory knobs on the dash, complete with cover plate. I have the cover plate in black or tan. You snooze you loose...
Up here it is getting colder by the day, i'm about to leave in a few minutes to go to one of the last cruise nights left, ironically at a place called California's Restaurant. Winter sucks and hate the fact that soon the old Comet will be parked for the season, but there is still a few cruises left and i mean to hit 'em while i can.
I agree, winter sucks...I only got mine on the road last week and I'm driving her EVERYWHERE before I have to park her for the winter...gonna have to install that thermostat soon, gettin awful cold inside the cab.
well the weather is changing hear (st.louis,mo. area) 50's day upper 30's N 40's night, lots of rain for this time of year, 4 and 5 days in a row, will be getting colder soon, but usualy won't get bad weather till after mid nov. and we may have a colder and more snow filled winter but I hope it don't get hear till end of dec. then it will be winter till feb/march, the maverick is already done for the year and will come out of the garage once more to get a shot of stabil and filled up with fuel then back in the garage , the o4 mustang gt is getting its oil change and a new belt this weekend and will get drove some off and on all winter accept for snow and ice, other wise it will rest in the driveway, and the 08 cummins dodge 4x4 HD is also getting oil change ,fuel filter change, air filter, and front and rear differential fluids changed so it will be good for the rest of winter,as I drive it the most anyway. so it looks like I have a long weekend of maint. ahead ,but glad to get it out of the way while the weather is mild...then bring on winter! don't get to go ice fishing though....
Gonna pickle the Sprint for winter next weekend...I am holding out for a few more sunny days.Have to get the snow blower up and ready for the white sh...I mean stuff. Been cold here for the last 2 weeks allready and plenty of rain to boot. Any of you fellas dont know what Ice/snow is, c'mon up between Nov and February and I'll introduce ya to the stuff!!! I'll even let ya play with the snow blower, you can push it all up and down the street...my neighbors will love ya!!!
Yep I got the biggest snow blower on the street and the neighbors fuel me up with booze to move the snow when the damn plow goes by. I know booze and snow blowers bad idea but its just enough to keep warm. Not enough to make me shove my hand up the auger. You southern guys that arent used to snow should see my street after a big one. It gets piled 7 feet high on the lawn till the blower cant throw it over the top. Its insane. Like Mavman we get lake effect snow. We can be buried then 20 k from here nothing. Just a dusting in the pic. Thats my 2 northern dogs. Gone now. Big guy is an Alaskan Malamute(gentle giant) and his best friend our Husky. Kimo and Sheba. Couldnt get those dogs in the house all winter. Excellent dogs. No small furry animals in the yard ever and didnt need guns to protect the house with those 2 around. Now we have 2 English Bulldogs. Our yard is full of critters and I have to shovel the back yard since they come from the factory with a lowering kit. Me reflecting on life starring at the sonar and a hole in the ice wondering where the hell the fish are.
Aha!... a source for an OEM one... if you have a black dash plate with the switch I want it to look "factory" like my other car (which is all brown). Looks like I will be working at the hospital for a while now... steady I hope. After I get the videos done we'll swap mail addresses and Ill talk to you about the rear defroster. I was pretty BROKE during wummer but work has picked up. Like all these others guys who don't know what WINTER means... forget the A/C we absolutely must have defrosters.
Awwww...... reminds me of our first one - "Kiko" was a female red Malamute... her 'daddy' was Canadian CHampion in some dog shows. When we moved to Calgary she paced the yard so much she wore a trench 3" deep across the property because it was too cold for us kids to go outside, then got distemper and had to be put down. Only dog we ever had who could "predict" snow.... she was always right. Those dogs have GOTTA be able to run a lot.
Ice is what we distill (or scoop off) frozen beer to concentrate it and make it stronger. The stronger the beer, the more ice you can shovel in February before you pass out or actually feel the pain from all that shovelling. Canadians tend to have great upper body strength and stamina in cold weather because because chugging huge glass mugs of beer and and tossing snow use the same muscle groups. I suppose all you 'Southerners have never heard of ice tires and snow tires either... I think last year Quebec bought up the whole worlds' supply of 'em.
Yep they sure did, i have my stack 'o' Winter tires in the garage ready to go for my Grand Am. I will stick 'em on at the begining of November.
