I just came back from the second last car show of the season and i am sad. The car show was at a restaurant in Mississauga and they decided that today's would be the last one of the season. Only 16 cars showed up so i guess most people have put their babies to bed for the Winter. Very sad but that is the way it goes. This coming Sunday will be the last car show in Ancaster Ontario which will also be a huge swap meet. After that maybe a cruise around or two and then.................... park the old Comet and see ya in May. Winter sucks!!!!! Anyone else feel this same way? YA YA YA i know all you Southern guys feel SO bad for us, i know. Over and out-------- COMRICK317
Well Im a southern boy with a non ac car,so I want too park mine in the summer when its 100 deg. outside.......
I DO feel sorry for you. Down here in Texas, Car Show "season" tends to happen in spring and fall. So late September we had our All Fords meet in Waco, yesterday we had 924 mav's Grace Christian Church car show (98 cars and bikes in attendance, not bad for only the 3rd annual.) So basically, our car show season has just begun. We don't want to be out and about too much during the summer around here. So, yes, I feel sorry for you but only as much as whereever you live, your car show season will vary, and for you, it sounds like it has just ended.
Shoot, we've got a Toy Run/ Cruise In the first week of Dec! Our car club meets every month, year round, rain or shine. Ya'll boys stay up there in all that snow and ice, we'll keep the spirit alive down here in the south!tiphat:
I was going through all my car show flyers today. Took out the expired ones. Only one flyer left in the folder.
yup, i went to my last show 2 weeks ago, got a fall cruise this coming weekend than away the cars go may take the sunfire to performance world in Jan, and the shelby is going to the Toronto auto show in Feb. but other than that wont move again till march BUT work begins on the mav! i wanna move south....
Last weekend was an indoor car show at a local National Guard Armory. They had a similer show in March where they packed the cars right up to the walls. This time there was 1 Chevelle, 1 Corvette, a truck and a dozen or so tuner cars. They didn't even turn all of the lights on. Last night there was a cruise at the Wegmans but cold, rain and snow showers kept me home. My best guess would be that it might have been cancelled Next Saturday is a scheduled Rat Rod show at a local oval track but we'll see if that ever goes off or not. Big difference from the middle of the summer where there are 2 or 3 shows to choose from each weekend. Time to start "X-ing" out the calender until spring comes once again.
Ya know it's funny but i never really thought about the fact that it gets so hot down South that you might not go to a show as a result of the heat. For us up here for the most part if it does get hot it is not insanely so hot that you might not want to go to a car show. As much as i hate the cold snowy winter crap i think a summer with screaming non-stop heat would get on my nerves too.
Cheer up. according to A.Gore in just a couple more years it will be summer year round, wished it would hurry up!
Winter does suck when your stuck in a maverick with no heat. My car is a daily driver and hopefully the extra hp will keep me warm.
