I havent taken a car to a car show before, but I should have my car done next year in time to take it to Eastside That'll be the first car show-type thing I've ever had a car in, as well as the Mavericks first car show, it'll be like a bonding thing...yeah...lol
If I could swing it, we should almost do breakfast. I know the area and can't figure out where to do that. I guess we could meet at the Timmie's where Jocko's used to be???? I think I'm free that morning but i would have to leave a little earlier, like between 12 - 1. We'll see the closer it comes to Sunday.
Sounds good, there is a car show there too so i may bring the old Comet out one more time this year. If it rains well then maybe not, i guess we will have to play it by ear. We need one more dry Sunday and then it can all go to hell.
Yep, it's getting toward the end of the car show season here too. There's one more show we would like to go to this Sunday that usually has a pretty big turn out and a big swap meet. I think it's the last show of the season and just about everybody tries to make it. The only problem is around here when it gets this late in Oct. the weather is pretty iffy. It's either raining, cold as hell or snowing. Last I heard it might rain Sunday. If it rains then we are done for the year. Time to put the Maverick away until spring and spend the next few months dreaming of The All Fords Nationals in Carlisle.
i feel for all of you guys. i used to be down south, and i hated those 110* or hotter car shows, and now i live on the damn oregon coast where it seems like it rains 8 days a week... there really isnt a happy medium for us is there? no a/c, bad heaters, and wipers that just cant keep up. good thing were not a sane bunch isnt it?
Either way, snow, no snow, good weather year round, good only half the year, too hot or too cold we all love car shows and swap meets i think. I think when it's all said and done it sucks when the season ends. Thank God for Christmas, it keeps us busy for at least half the time till the car season gets started again.
I just went to my last car show/swap meet today in Ancaster Ontario. It's at the new fairgrounds and it was pretty good. The place is finally complete and ready to go. I still miss the old grounds, but that's the way life goes i guess. My Comet was the only Maverick/ Comet there but there was at least 4 1965 Comets at the show. Three that were there together and one on a trailer for sale. Maybe i should have asked them if they wanted to join the NMCC maybe next year if i see them again. I did see Jeff who owns the 1971 or '72 gold Comet at the show. You guys who went to the 4th NMCC meet and greet in May know him. He didn't bring his car as he was a vender, he did bring a Mustang to sell though. Jeff said that he plans to sell his beautiful gold Comet. Whoever buys it will get a real stunning car. Here it is: It really is something to see. Well it is sad that that was the last car show till spring, the only place left to cruise is at the Harvey's cruise night on Monday. The guy who runs it says he wiil do it as long as people keep coming with their cars so i will be their till the snow flys. I don't want to give it up!! Sorta Comricks last stand.tiphat:
