I found another mav that I am planning on buying if the 69 F-100 sells. It is a 72 grabber. It has a nice grabber hood, perfect spoiler and sport mirrors. The interior is just about perfect alhough it is a bench seat car. The bumpers and grill are nice. It has a 302 c6 stuck over in it. The engine has an aluminum intake and holley carb. Now for the bad. The drivers side quarter is perfect but the passenger side is shot about 8 inches up. If anyone has a 2dr there going to junk please keep me in mind. It had a vinal top but has been taken off. I has some small rust holes but nothing terrible. I plan to fiberglass the top and then put a new vinal top back. The guy wants $800 and it seems fair to me. It's worth that in parts. I plan to put it back pretty much stock. I should be picking it up in about 2 weeks if things work out
Sounds like a good find, but instead of spending all that money on a real vinyl top you might consider doing what I am going to do with my Grabber a look alike vinyl top and a lot cheaper. You take 2 or so cans of rock guard or chip guard whichever they're the same.Spray one direction and thin the other direction like criss cross pattern. A friend of mine moved to California and was working in a body shop. He saw a guy do this on a Mustang and it looked like a real vinyl top. I am going to try it. It is just a suggestion, and it is just paint.
forgot one step, sorry. Right before it sets up lightly lay it down, by sanding it. Lightly. That is what makes it look like a vinyl top.
It doesnt even look close to a maverick vinyl top rick pointed it out and i agree no comparison at all. http://mmb.maverick.to/showpost.php?p=612005&postcount=14
I've got a quarter cut off, at the body line, I think it's the passenger side, I'll have to look this weekend.
he also has a 65 mustang with a 289 4spd that I might get the body on it is shot. Would it be possible to use those parts for a mav straight shift conversion
