    Hi all!

I figured it's about time I join a Mav/Comet forum. I've been tinkering with european and japanese cars for about ten years, and frankly getting tired of the cost of parts, the complexity and most of all the high price to pay for more torque! I haven't had a muscle car since I rolled my 72' Cutlass into a cornfield back in 1991. That was my first car, and I bought her for $500 - many fond memories.

Currently I have a couple of great cars: an 05' Infiniti (Nissan) G35 (has rwd, stock, 300hp, 260lbs torque, 3400lbs, 6-speed manual, 4dr) and a 97' Saab 9000 Aero (big turbo, huge hatchback space, but damn fwd). The Infiniti is a great platform, but to get the 400 lbs of torque I want, its is just too damn expensive. So that brings me here.

When I think of all musclecars available, I want one that is fairly lightweight, inexpensive, thats easy to find most parts for and that I can get decent handling out of. I was dreaming about a 70-71 AMX for a long time and also Nova 2's - but they are pretty damn expensive. Now I am concentrating on the 70-72' Mav/Comet's for the above reasons. So am I right on picking the Mav/Comet?

I found a 71' Comet GT this summer, that the owner pulled off the market. For $2500 it seemed like a fantastic deal with tons of potential. So, I am trying to convince him to sell it to me now. Here are some pics.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I just heard from the owner of the 71 comet gt (forever to be know as "the one that got away). Said his son decided to take it over. Damn! That is going to be a hard deal to match. Love the red interior in white with the black stripe.
