i just about got my car buttoned up but i still need a few parts, i am looking for the shifting linkage. its just the stock shifter, the guy i bought the car from had plans of puting something bigger in it and when he started taking it apart he just started pitching stuff, any help would be great

    welcome to the board!
looks exactly like my transmission problem. the tranny itself seems to have the wrong shift lever, the one for a floor shift car should be two-sided. maybe you can get away by flipping it 180 degrees, you need to drop the pan and valvebody for that. then you only need the connecting rod from the lever on the trans to the lever on the shifter handle. these come up in the for sale section occasionally.
so a search for that problem, to the best of my knowledge it has been discussed before - with helpful pictures.
