While in the middle of a auto-to-stick conversion, my car lost the ability to use the headlights and the brake lights. I noticed that there is a pink and black wire hanging next to my column, so I assume I disconnected something upon installing the clutch pedal bracket. And from a wiring diagram, it says that it's suppose to be connected to the neutral safety switch. My questions are: 1) Would said mentioned pink-black wire cause the problem? 2) Where do I reconnect the wire back to my neutral safety switch (pictures would be very helpful) Thanks in advance
You didn't specify a year. You can go to www.maverickcomet.com look under features\wiring diagrams you should be able to trace it down.
it's a 1972 Comet, and I've never been very good at reading these old diagrams as they're very... compact, nor have I ever been good with wires in the 21 years that I've been alive. I was hoping someone would have a picture that I could refer mine to
lighting issues ok hear we go i pull the switch. the lights come on but no brake lite. turn off headlight. brake lights work. no blinkers ever. this is killin me.
you've got a ground problem some where! check as many as you can find and you will find one loose or detached!
I think you may have the brake light hooked up to the tail light circuit. When you hit the brakes the tail light is coming on but when your tail lights are on the lamp is too bright to show the brake light is on. Swap the wires to see if it changes or remove the bulbs and put them back in correctly.
Check and see if you may have pulled the harness plug partway loose. It's to the left and above the pedal assembly.
