    1974 Maverick
Hey every one. I have a 1974 Maverick. It is in pretty good condition. I bought it on ebay about 4 or 5 years ago. I am thinking about selling it but not sure what exactl to sell it for. I had a 1976 maverick for my first car. It was a grabber in the making. The guy that owned it made it look like a grabber anyhow. Anyway, It got smashed and I didn't have the means to fix it and my dad sold it on me. I bought this 1974 to replace it, but it just isn't the same. my husband has made it run great(at least it did last time it was running) I am not sure of all the details of it at this moment, but I do know it needs some minor body work that my husband it too lazy to help me do. I really really want a blue 1976 grabber or a blue 1976 with a grabber hood. If any ony can help me find a project car or what the going rate on mavericks are please let me know. Thanks.

Welcome aboard! I know of a blue Grabber that is for sale in Michigan if she hasn't sold it already. It is a small bumper 70 Grabber. Needs a little work but I believe will make a real nice car.

    Welcome to the forum :D

As far as 1976 Grabbers, you wont find any as they were only built from 1970 to.....1974 I think? Someone correct me if Im wrong, however the grabber hood will fit on any maverick...good luck on the search (y)

Any pics of the car youre trying to sell?

You can pick up...decent...mavericks for under $1000, I got my '77 for $250 and theres a few others on here that got theirs for under $500...a stock maverick in good, clean condition virtually rust-free condition would fetch $1500-$2000 depending on the options (Im just guessing based on what Ive seen here, but more experienced people could probably answer better then me)

what problems are you having? just about anything you need advice wise is on this site. all you need is the tools and the patience to do the work. heck this site has even helped me figure out things on my boat with a chebby motor and on around the house projects. your comet will be worth more running and when you get the grabber you will need to work on it to maintain it also. welcome aboard and dont be afraid to search out and ask questions.

    Thanks for the info

Thanks to every one that replied. I am unsure about selling my car, but my husbard is laid off and it is the perfect time to work onit, but the funding is low. His dad is a body guy, but we haven't asked him to do it yet. We were quoted about $1000-1500 to do the body work withgetting the whole car painted. It is in beautiful condition for being a northern car. I do not have a pic of it yet but plan to have one soon. It runs great, but really how hard is it to keep a maverick running. My old maverick always got me home before it ran out of gas or broke. I paid $1500 for it when the economy was better, but I would like to get that out of it as is. I know to some people it is nothing special, but to my it is my teenage years. It was an eye catcher in 1998(when I was 16). That is how I grew to love the car. All the attention I got was great. The interrior of my car is mint. no discoloring of the carpet. The dashpad has a small crack and the seam of the front seat needs to be sewed, so it isn't completely mint, but for a 74 they are easy fixes. I am going to get all the info on it from my hubby amd some pictures to share.
