ok so i got a 74 maverick and my broinlaw has a 71 grabber i parked mine next to his and i noticed that my front end is higher than his,was wondering if anybody can tell me whats up with that or any hints on how to get it lowered down thanks!!!
well you can cut small sections out of the spring or search "Shelby Drop" on the site i'm no expert on it but i'm sure somebody will know how much to cut is this by chance your brother inlaws grabber?
mean_maverick cut a coil out of his and it dropped the front by 2"-2 1/2" but it all depends on spring wear and the weight of the front end, you might want to ask him the best way of doing it since he did his within the last month(or maybe he'll comment here)
your brother in laws car was prolly a factory 6 cylinder. the springs are weaker and set lower. i put the blue wrench to mine. it aligned my front end lowered it and took out the bump steer and tire wear.
Yeah dont heat them, it weakens and stiffens the spring considerably at all heat points, Im sure the last thing you want is to hit a bump and end up with 3 or 4 mini-coil springs on one side...lol
