installing front suspension

    does anyone know how dificult it is to replace the front suspension on the maverick inline 6 1970? i have upper and lower control arms and shocks.

    Borrow a spring compressor from Auto Zone and have at it. Shouldn't take about 3 hours

    spring compressor huh.......i will look into those @ auto zone...........thanx

    Put the plate on the shock tower...spray wd-40 on the threads and have at it with a ratchet.

    sounds like a plan, 1 question tho, is it possible to install coilovers on this maverick?

    I wish I'd thought to do it that way about a year ago when I replaced my front springs. Getting one side off was such a pain that I opted to get the other one off with a grinder! I was using that same spring compressor too.

    lol......i feel ur pain......springs are not good to work with.......one time i almost took my eye out cuz i took my front shock assembly out of my corolla and i went to undo the top nut that holds the spring down with pressure and it just flew up like 10 feet in the air.........

    yea. the compressor with the plate on top is way better than external, or that hook jaloppi.

    I had a heck of a time compressing the springs enough to do a spindle change. Next time I will compress the springs with the weight of the car sitting on them before I jack it up

    thats a good idea.....i will try that this weekend........hopefully all my fingers will be intact...
