OK, so i was wondering if it is possible to make a compressed natural gas conversion on these mavericks or comets.....does anyone know or does anyone think there is a possibility?
Why? Anything can be done..but your range is so limited with CNG, and if need a fill up, places just arn't common.
true but u can get a hook up for this at your house.....it will be real cheep.....u can fill up in some places for 3 dollars....and in ur house would be even cheeper
CNG conversions are available to fit just about any carbureted application. They just may not be legal in your state. The real issue you will have is placement of the tank. A tank large enough to get you a 200 mile range will pretty much fill the trunk of a Maverick. If you can get it in through the trunk opening at all. Also, the compressor to allow you to fill your tank at home costs approx. $4000 used. You have to burn one heck of a lot of CNG to recoup that amount of investment. That is just the refueling compressor, not the conversion kit.
