its really a matter of opinion. i like the firmer handle of the steering wheel. its still very easy to turn. the car wont drive itself around curves with manual and wont decide where it wants to go. also less parts to wear out. when that power steering shock gets wore the car has a mind of its own on the highway and is very dangerous.

...replacing the regular filler neck with the big hole to the later unleaded filler neck with the spring loaded flap - I responded to your PM. :tiphat:

I appreciate the reply. :HandshakeSounds like one of those little oversights that make a big difference.

Great responses guys, I'd also like to hear of some the mods you regret doing.

Another source of the deluxe dome light ... late 70s LTDs and Galaxies (found a couple of cars in the yards lately ... (y)) also mid 80s T-Birds, but those have all but disappeared.

    A mod I now regret ...

... Taking the A/C and heat out.

The car was a fun toy/bracket car when I did that.

I will want to drive the car a lot more after I get the new interior in it, and I threw out all the stuff I stripped out. Most of the bigger parts were junk anyway, and I was counting on getting a modern Vintage Air system.

Now the budget is really tight, I probably could have done something cheaper with adapting factory stuff.

Oh boy things that have been done to my car....

    -9"
    -Tubbed
    -Roll Cage
-Interior stripped down to about 2 seats and the original dash
    -Gas Tank modified

    Things needed to be done:

    -Paint
    -Disks
-Motor and Trans need to be put in lol
-Streetable Wheels/Tires need to be put on (does anyone know where I can get those Monocoque Wheels like Gapp N' Roush had on the Taxi?)
-Research on my car farther than just it was a Super Modified class drag car

Best - change from 3.00 to 3.55 gears
    Best part two- Nitrous
    Best part three- stall converter
Best part four- Sticky tires. Started with M&H racemasters, then on to ET Streets. Either beat 14" GT radials.
Worst mod-4.62 gears. They suck w/a mostly stock engine
Biggest waste of money- MSD billet dizzy/6al box. They worked fine, but no performance gain over the '85 GT dizzy/stock duraspark.
Most fun mod- Line-Loc. Makes for awesome burnouts!
