While in the Houston area for work, I met Scott and Ed (scooper77515 and fan2488) yesterday, along with "Eileen II" and "Della." Scott's car runs like the devil and Ed's car is every bit as gorgeous as the pictures, and then some! Scott and Anna sure can cook, too... A large time was had by all.
It may run like the devil, but it don't stop for crap!!! The master cylinder has been getting weak over the past 2 weeks, and I thought it would hold out to take these two for a ride. Well, with fan2488, it would stop with 2 pumps early in the ride, then 4 pumps at the end. When faceless got in, it was 4 when we took off, and then I pretty much had no brakes when we got back to the garage. It took 10 or 12 pumps to keep from running into my garage refrigerator, or as Anna put it "making our smallest bedroom bigger". Had a great time, and glad you guys were entertained by the food, cars, and gab. There was definitely lots of food and gab...
Hard to say man, there was much of both. I'm pretty sure we collectively ate a cow. It's like I said, "If we're gonna die, we might as well be smiling." I'm glad you decided to wail on the gas a little bit even though it might have been slightly insane...
At that point, where I nailed it, I knew I had 3 miles of wide open highway to slow back down before we had to turn back into civilization.
I had every bit of faith in ya. I think you were more nervous by far than I was, but of course I wasn't the one who got to really appreciate the limp and useless brake pedal... It was a fun ride. I really wish I could have brought my car, and I think next time I have to work at the TX field office I will. Hopefully I'll finally make a Roundup or Gathering this year too.
I have a couple more, and fan2488 has some, but really, it is only 2 cars. How many pictures can one take of 2 cars?
