Stupid box, i just want to rip it out and toss it.

I have the 2 clips off the front, the 2 screws for the floor heat, and the 3 nuts on the blower itself except ford put the blower INSIDE the box:bs:

    What am i missing?

There should be 5 nuts on the engine side of the firewall. Cables and a screw or 2 on the inside. Also the tubes that go up for the defrosters needs to be detached. Couple wires on the heater resistor. Oh, and the heater hoses need to come off the engine so they can be pulled into the car with the box.

    :)

It all comes out as one unit to get at the blower motor. It is pretty easy to do - but is a slight PITA as it gets pretty cramped under there. here are a couple pictures froma 1972 shop manual. I would think the 74 should be pretty much the same concept.

Got to pull the heater box. Can't change the blower on ac or non ac without doing that first...

If you have AC, you also have to disconnect those lines. The bottom half of my case was broken and glued back up in a few places by the "professional" :( who removed it at some time. Hope you have a mechanic that will do it right. I'd feel safer doing it myself. Just gotta follow the book and take your time.
