People choose to be part or not be part of groups or clubs. Personally, I have always been a joiner, and usually an active member of that group. I have always felt that if you have an interest in something that you should show your support. Here in the Maverick/Comet community, we have several groups. Usually, the first of each year is renewal time for membership.

Are you a member of any Maverick/Comet group, or for that matter, any car club or group?

I'll start: I am a contributing member here on this forum, renewed member of the Maverick Comet Group(MCG), and I plan to rejoin Maverick Comet Club International(MCCI).

I also belong to the Sunshine State Cougar Club(SSCC), Cougar Club of America(CCOA), Kentuckianna Classic Cougar Club(KCCC), Mustang Club of America(MCA), and North Central Florida Mustang Club(NCFMC). Whew, too many letters.

    What about you?

I'm a supporting member here and also a member of the Maverick Comet Group and the Maverick Comet Club International.

Locally I am a member of a club called R.A.C.E that helps kids in need by generating funds through the car shows and other events. I also joined a club called The Keystone Garage Club, another car club.

I'm a supporting member on TFFN and mmb. I'm also a member of the Southeast Chapter Falcon Club of America and the Falcon Club of America (FCA), and of course the Dixie Maverick gang. I was a member of the Georgia Street Rod Association (GSRA) a couple years ago and I'm thinking about joining MCCI and MCG at the first of the year.

Supporting member on this site but I think I'll pass on the Mav/Comet clubs. I think this site in general is the perfect club for myself. If anything I'd likely join one of the local vintage car clubs. Just not enough Mavs or comets around here to have any sort of a local club. I think it was tried around here but some guys expect more dedication and time investment than some of us can afford. I keep in touch with a few of the local boys around here and we get together in a very casual manner and sometimes last minute seat of your pants thing. It seems to work very well for me. We dont need a president or treasurer. Just a cell phone, some fuel and room for a burger or two. :thumbs2:

No offence intended towards all the good clubs and members out there and the good they do. This is just what fits me best. I have other interests and groups like my fishing that runs year round and the gun club I am joining this year. Only so much time and money to go around.

I run a not for profit association, a non-profit corporation and a church. I really don't have the time to be an active member in any more groups. I am thinking of getting out of the two I am in now, so that I have some time to do the stuff I don't have time for now.

    Indeed, I agree.

Any extra money and time I do have goes towards the Comet but if I had more time and money..... it would probably still go towards the Comet

Im not much of a help yet on this forum but I do enjoy spending an hour or so before I go to sleep reading through these forums :yup:
