So lets hear the Comet guys feelings towards their labor of loves being called a "parts car" all the time.

Ive been thinking about this recently, and although its in good intentions and all for fun...Im starting to realize that a lot of people who owns comets and has devoted hundreds of hours into their beloved cars are probably not saying anything in fear of being criticized for being a "party pooper"...I know if I was in the comet owners shoes Id be a bit frustrated if I spent hundreds of hours on a car only for it to be called a "parts car" all the time, even if it was just for fun.

So heres your chance to speak out about how you feel about your cars being called "parts cars"...Im not trying to get rid of it...just trying to see how people really feel about it so people can see how the jokes are affecting the community.

I hope you realize, it's a inside joke between a few people, that's been going on for more than 5+ years..... Don't make everything so serious, it's the Internet.......

Said it before and I'll say it again, if I had the chance to get a Comet as my first car I would've done it. Not that I hate the Maverick cause I love mines, but there weren't many Comets in my area at the time of my search. Specially Comet GTs of these specific years.

    My 2 cents of course.

There has never been alot of comets in this area and very few mavericks because of the north ohio weather most of both these types (are hidden in the area) because there really nice or at the bottom of the scrap pile.I just dont like the front hood of a comet.I already could see there was a inside joke between people here and think its great fun intended.Mavericks look cooler

Personally I like the hood/scoop on the Comet GT. It just looks mean! I also like the taillights better, mine look like an add-on off a Pinto. As far as the joke, I don't poke at peoples cars unless I know them very well so don't expect to hear them from me. For those in the know on the inside joke, keep at it cuz it wouldn't bother me even if I had a Comet.

I'm a joker myself and don't take it other than just that, a joke. Hell, I've even started into it with my Join The Darkside picture.

I doubt seriously if anybody really thinks of Comets as parts cars, or that it's not as worthwhile to put effort and money into a Comet as it is with a Maverick. They are the same car in all but the most trivial ways.

This a Comet lovers site that tolerates the little brother tagging along and even gave them top billing in the name just to be nice and make them feel all grown up.
By little brother I mean Maverick.

    No mavericks are cooler:D

Its basically the same car, my trans am buddy always tells me, "Comets are cooler!" and i say "Well guess what buddy, firebirds are super cool"

I dont see whats the big deal. I would scoop a comet gt up as fast as you could say maverick.

They made billions of Mavericks to use as parts cars to repair the thousands of Comets. That was so there would always be plenty of them at hand to strip for parts. Makes perfect sense.
