Your measurements are more reliable for original dimensions since you took them when the decals were new and you were measuring the real decals, not fuzzy photos. But, my 37 year old decals were somewhat different. I had 2" of white space between the once-red stripes at the front corners but less than 1 1/2" at the back edge.

The discrepancy in the measurements could be from the original application at the factory. They were put on by hand at the factory during assembly...Lets remember it was all production soo...Some are dead on...some are a bit off.I agree that Dennis would have the most accurate since he had his since new and knowes the car intimately...:yup:

Plus the vinyl will shrink over time. That would probably account for the most difference.

This is GREAT!!!! Thanks Jim! I will be ordering a new set for the Sprint! Now if I can just get my welding skills up to par I can fix the quarter panel and get it in for paint. I already have the new gas tank and have removed the rear seats. New carpet will go in after the welding is done. Thanks again for getting this done!

I spoke with Dan of Graphic Express yesterday afternoon. He worked on the decal over the holidays and basically has it ready for a case by case basis. He will need about a week's lead time to produce one. I'm sending him the emails with pictures of 2 other hoods to make sure all looks fine. It looks like we will be in business for decals very soon. Thanks again to Jim and Pete for sending me pictures of their hoods.

    Jim,

Thanks very much for doing this. What, if anything, is he doing about the red pinstripe?

The stripe will be Grabber Blue with a thin red stripe lining the outside, just like the Mustang ones. He asked me about making them blue, but I told him they needed to be red. That is how everybody wanted them, isn't it?

Yes, that's right. Just didn't know if the red stripe would be included. Got a phone number for Dan?

Dan, from Graphic Express, called me to let everybody know that the Sprint decals are ready and online for placing orders. I am going over there next Wednesday to pick up my hood and also pick up a set for my Sprint Maverick.

So, Jerry, Jim, and all others that have wanted these decals, you may call in an order at (352)341-0077 or go online ar www.graphic-express.com and order the decals online.

I went to Graphic Express today and picked up my hood which was used to make the Sprint Maverick hood stripe decals. Dan had my hood decals ready and, boy, the quality is outstanding. I would recommend his decals to anyone. It is a special order item, so allow him a week to get them made.

So, Ray, Jim, Jerry, and all the rest of you that need hood decals, they are well worth the investment.

    Red Pin Stripes and Stencils

I called Dan at Graphics Express. Wanted to know if they'd also make stencils for the Sprint hood. He's going to look into it.

I was thinking stencils because I've never applied decals before and was concerned about getting it done right. Actually he has me thinking decals might not be all that hard. I was surprised that the decals can be lifted back up and repositioned a few times.

He'll also look into the 1/4" red pin stripes for the cowl and sides. I'm concerned with finding an exact match for the cowl stripes right next to the hood decal. If he does either the stencils or the pin stripping they'll appear on their web site.

Thanks again, Jim, for getting the decals made.

Talked to Dan again this morning. There won't be any Sprint hood stencils. They're still thinking about red pin stripe tape to match the red stripe in the decals.

The red pin stripe to match those in the hood decal is now listed on Graphic-Express.com. Its a 3M stripe but they haven't gotten them in stock yet. I presume its the same one Mavaholic identified as correct.

Ordered my hood decal. Thanks, Jim.:Handshake
