I Was Thinking Of Getting The Tag-wsc2 Hand Held Wether Systems If Anyone Has Used One Are They Worth The $$$$ Like To Here Pros & Cons On This Or Other Systems Hard Time Dailing My Car In Whith The Weather We Are Have In Texas But I Did Get The $$$ Sat Night It Will Pay For One :d Thanks Ivy
A friend of ours bought one. He uses it regularly, and it's pretty accurate as far as calculating differences in weather vs. ET. His TAG shows that he should be dialing about .2 faster than the car actually runs, but he's got it figured out and it's deadly. With the box and the TAG he's consistenly under .510 RT and no more than .01 sec off the dial. I did talk to him about it and he swears by it, but also added that it takes 40 or 50 runs in order for it to calculate correctly, so if you buy one....don't get in a hurry trying to figure it out. The weather here is about the same as yours...this weekend was the worst I've ever seen it as far as trying to guess a dial-in. 90 degrees and 50% humidity one round, and an hour later its 75 deg and 100% humidity and the pressure has dropped considerably. Hard to guess in weather like that.
The Points Leader Here Has One But He Runs A Tbird 460 The Thing Stays On The Dail I Dont Think The Big Blocks Have As Much Trouble With The Weather As The 302 Its Been Up And Down I Ran Three 11.25 On A 11.24 Dail Sat Thats The First Time It Has Stayed Put Last Week It Ran Two 11.20 On A 11.19 Then Went 11.17 Got To Go Home But Like You Say This Weather Is Killing Me Trying To Dail It In Thanks Mavman For The Info
Hey Ivy, Man, the air was ABSOLUTLEY HORRIBLE this weekend wasn't it? With the humidity, it was over 104 heat index ("feels like") in Houston. I ran in the "Track Masters" race at Houston Motorsports Park in the 9.0 Index (1/8" mile). My time trials were the worst I'd ever ran (in the Mustang). I didn't even think I was going to be able to compete in the 9.0's but the weather changed from the time of the trials to eliminations and the engine responded well to the lower humidity. I ran right around 9.03 during eliminations. Unfortunately, a shower came near the end of the event so they split the pot 3 ways - me being one of 'em. Anyway, I'd like to hear your take on the TAG and how it works with your SBF. I might be persuaded if you, personally, endorse it. Congrats on your win! (even without a weather station) -Rick
Rick i sure wanted to go to sealy today but i have poison IVY the heat and it would be to much to deal with never ran the 1/8 mile but the n/e paid two grand first place on the tag just need some more in put on the thing maybe the racers that use them will have more info RICK you need to come to the new lufkin track we had a lot of the houston cars racing with us some running points clad to here you were in the $$$ will your car run the 1/4 mile the lufkin track is a 1/4 mile
Hey Ivy, I'll have to make a trip to the new Lufkin track. Unfortunately, my car has 456 gears in it. The best I could do is 1000' I'm afraid. I needed to put those gears in there to wake up the tire old 302. I recently got another 302 long block that I'll be fixin up for street/strip - maybe. I dunno though, I might keep it to simple AutoZone overhaul and put my time back on the Maverick. It's getting closer and closer with every passing day (or two). About Sealy, I forgot all about that event (too many going on around Houston nowadays). I'll bet the heat and humidity were just as bad today. Glad I'm inside now! Looks like from the Pine Valley Raceway web site that you'll be running your points on Saturday. You could make Houston Motorsports Park's bracket racing event - $1,500 for Electronics and $650 for N/E. I'm supposed to be coming back from the Kerrville Music Fest on that day. I might enter the N/E if we get back in time. I think you might be a ringer for either class. Good luck, maybe we'll see you next Sunday at HMP, Rick
Alot of guys that I know that use the Tag system don't use the predictor. They just record the humity, barometric, and corrected alltitude form the machine and dial there cars by how it reacts to the changes. Seems to work pretty good for everyone that I know.
