I have 4 sets of the universal traction bars, that i've saved thru the years, the kind that take the square u-bolts,and mount underneath the spring.Every one of them comes up about 2" too short(where the rubber snubber goes underneath the eye)Is there a set just for the Mav/Comet,or does Everyone put up with it,or have You retro fitted Yours?
They work great. And are adjustable for how much preload you want on each side. Not cheap though. I've seen someone selling them on ebay for $339 I think it was.
Mike and I met for lunch today and afterwards he came by the house and helped me adjust mine.... (Cal tracs) these...http://www.hotrodsandhemis.com/Traction thanks Mike...:Handshake will try them out tomorrow...
the ones on my car are the heavy duty lakewoods, there also longer and thicker then the cheaper universal ones
I bought a set of Lakewood bars and they were poorly made/designed. A friend made a set for me and they are terrific. Same fundamental design, but the correct length and proper shock mount locations. We used a set of Energy Suspension snubbers that can easily be cut for adjustment.
Do You have any pics? Cal tracs are out of my reach right now.I'd be happy with a set that actually reaches the eye.
