im having my doubts bout doing the m2 swap for now so i would like to know what id have to do to swap the disk brakes from the m2 suspention and the from the 9 inch rear. or if its even possible on a budget. thanks for any help
If I understand correctly.... I would say that the MII and the stock Mav disc brakes are completely different and do not interchange. As for the rear discs, what brake set up are you using??
i have the stock 8 inch rear an the disks are on a 9 in but i wouldnt put the back on if i cant use the front
the m2 brakes will not work on the maverick suspension. the 9" brake may transfer over to the 8" if the 9" has small ends and the 8" is 5 lug.
ive never seen a 9" that is 4 lug. i know that that the m2 front end stuff is 4 lug but the caliper will not mount to the maverick spindle. also the rear end from a mustang 2 is a 8" and was only had drum brakes.
The rear discs from the late model Crown Vics will swap to an 8" rear. There's a link to a thread in the Stangnet classic mustang forums on how to do it. There are tons of these cars in the junk yards now.
sorry i guess ill add to that last post, as in what cars could i swap the front brakes from an bout how big of a job is it? thanks
