Lil and I are making final preparations. Packed last night and just taking care of some details around here. We both will be done with work around 2 PM, and then we will be on our way. Driving her Black 07 Mustang. We are staying at the Days Inn closest to NPD.

Kind of glad the Comet wasn't ready to go ... no heat or AC in it all, right now ... brrrrrrrrrrr... that would have been a very cold ride.

We'll see you all tomorrow morning, wearing our cold weather gear.

Well, I'm in Tampa staying at my uncles house. I'll leave here early Saturday morning heading to Ocala. See you guys there. Not sounding like we're going to have too many cars there if you guys keep bailing on us.

I have been going to this show for several years, and have suffered through bitter cold, cold winds, rain, heat, and being placed near the Camels and Giraffes. Of all of these, the worst was being near the Camels and Giraffes. The smell was unbearable!!

It's 45 right now outside, and compared to the previous mornings, seems like a heatwave. I plan on taking either my heater that rests on top of a propane tank or my Reddy 55 which puts out 55,000 BTU's. The Reddy 55 has to have electricity, so I will have to run an inverter off a 12V battery to give it fire, also have to go and get K1 to fuel it. Either way, there will be some heat at the show. Funny how many close friends you suddenly have when you have heat at these shows, LOL. Yes, Ray, I will save you a spot. At least we have no snow. Did you miss the snow when you came down, Ray?

If anyone is coming in early on Friday, there is a display at the Appleton Museum on Silver Springs Blvd, just before you get to the Silver Springs park. It is called" The Art of the Bike" and features motorcyle engineering that I understand is remarkable. Cost is $12 and I am told is well worth going. Ends Sat. So, Jeff and Lil, that would give you something to do Friday afternoon.

At any rate, it will be a GREAT show, despite the weather. Bundle up. See you there.

Well, I spent the day shopping for stuff for the show. I went to NPD first, and bought a couple of last minute car items for the XR7 conv. Then, a stop over at the Sports Authority to buy a shade canopy, complete with side panels to enclose it, and weights to hold it down from the wind. My last canopy took flight at one of the car shows, breaking 2 legs in the process, so I had to shoot it. Next, I went the RV place and had my propane tank filled. So, now, I have the shelter and heat to help survive the day. I feel confident that I will have several friends stop by at the show seeking warmth from the cold.

Next is to put the finishing touches on the car. I am going to try to be there by 7:30-8am.

If you are showing a car, the first 1000 pre-registered get 2 free passes to the park. If you are bringing a car and did not get into the first 1000, then it is $21 per car, again 2 free passes to the park. If you are not bringing a car and want to see the show, you pay the admission fee to the park. I am not sure how much that is, but probably is around $21.

If you can tag with one of the members that are bringing cars and can meet in the parking lot in front of the park, then you may be able to get an armband that will get you into the park free. Mine is being used by myself and my son, but perhaps you can pm one of the posters on this thread and make connections with them.

The BBQ is $12.50 per person. That is at NPD and is after the show.

Its only free for the people that pre-registered. I'm not sure what the cost is at the gate.

Then, you need to contact someone who is going to see if they have an extra armband or pm them with your phone # so they can check around to see if anyone that is at the show hs an extra one.

It depends on whether they will give me packets for both cars I pre-registered. If not, no, my son will be taking the other one. He was to drive one of my Cougars while I drove the other one. Now it looks like he will just show up with no car. Contact Mavgrab302(Ken). He should have one and is going.
