Hey guys, I ordered the NOS powershot system and was wondering if anyone had any advice on the installation. I haven't received it yet but I'm sure it'll come with good directions. There are 2 solenoids and a switch that goes in the cabin somewhere.

I have a fuel pump coming too. What's the size of the pickup in the stock tank?

I mount my solenoids under my shock tower braces, they kind of get hidden that way.

I got the NOS kit for a holley carb but I have an edelbrock carb, that's ok right?

one great trick i learned and rarely see mentioned in the instructions and books is that you can tune how hard the initial hit is. you can change the lengths of the line from the solinoids to the plate. if you put a longer line on the nitrous side than you have on the fuel side it will have a softer hit that will be less prone to blow the tires off. the cheater plate on my car has the nitrous side about twice as long as the fuel side. now remeber that the nitrous is injected at around 900 psi and the fuel is at 5 psi. so even with the longer line the nitrous will enter the motor first. this creates a moment of being lean and then the fuel hits and you go. by puting the longer line on the nitrous side you lessen this lean period and get a better engagement of the system.

Good info, I guess I need to get educated about nitrous since I have a set up just sitting around

Bryant, that is some really interesting info. Also something I would have never thought of.

Yeah but he will have to perform some of his magic on himself once he pushes the the button on that nitrous, one to get his heart beat slowed down and and another to get the smile removed from his face, and he better take a change of undies with him :)

haha, yea I'm sure I will be draining the bottle in no time. I'll hold off on all the other stuff like bottle warmer, purge kit etc.

So where is a good place to mount the activation switch? I don't think running the wires is gonna be too complicated. I was thinking of installing the tank on the driver's side. And I'll run the nitrous feed line from the bottle under the car, that ok?

    Same base plate for both.

Run it like a fuel line, keep it safe and away from heat and you will be fine.

Stock pick up size is 5/16th, The plate will work with the edelbrock carb, make sure you put the plate on correct there is a top and a bottom, biggist rookie mistake just follow the directions and you should be fine!!!!
