I know it should really go in the trunk, but I don't have much room back there and I don't want to drill anymore holes. I have that wooden "seat and back" that is carpeted for my dog, and it would be very simple to install the bottle there. But track rules state it has to have a drain out of the car in case that over-pressure valve blow and empties the contents. Where is that valve located? Is it this? and if so, how do you attach a line to it? (see attached). Back seat shown below.
I think that is it. They make tubes to screw on (blow down tubes) Could you run it throu the old seatbelt bolt holes? http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=nitrous+blow+down+tube&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_newu=1&_sop=1
I used the seatbelt holes to bolt up my exhaust hangers. But there plenty of options for exiting the hose under the car. So, it looks like I would have to unscrew the one I have and screw in one that is attached to a hose?
The Blow down tube is attached where the pop off valve is now (where you have here). The bottle MUST be empty to install the tube.
Haven't filled the bottle yet, and pretty sure the guy who will fill it will have that valve in stock. I can have him swap it out while I wait.
I will say that if i were you, I would install the valve myself then pump up the pressure in the bottle as high as you can get it with air. If the valve leaks then you can fix it without losing 40 bucks worth of N20. I dunk mine in the swimming pool.
No as i have water separators on my equipment, And what do you figure is in the bottle now? After you clean your N20 filter the first time you will see what little contamination you put in with compressed air will be null.
I have the cheap air compressor water separator with the little oily stone filter in it (at least I THINK that is what is in it...) What psi will the full bottle be holding approximately?
Most, not all systems is set up to run on 850 psi. This is usually the pressure where the NOS bottle heater turns off. I run mine at 1100 psi because i can better control my fuel with this bottle pressure. ( my regulator wont go below 4 1/2 psi).
I'm not positive, But i think my NITROUS WORKS bottles have a 2500 psi blow off. I think its written on the valve on most bottles.
darn it Scoop, you are beating me to the install . . . but at least you are asking all the questions I would have had I should just pull and allnighter tonight and get it all installed but then I'll be dead tomorrow.
I am done for now. I have the plate and solenoids installed, but I want new fuel lines before I go any further. So off to JEGS...
