is there any way to roughly figure out my hp of my motor with eng. specs 1989 5.0 roller engine with ported and polished 1989 e-7 heads e 303 ford racing cam. edlelbrock performer 289 intake holley 600 vac. secondarys mallory unilite dist. msd 6al hooker 6901 headers thanks john p.s. would like to get to 275 rwhp any thoughts or tips and input would be greatly appeciated
i would have to guess that its between 250 and 275 at the motor. thats based on the intake manifild and the heads your are useing. those are what i figure to be the bigest restrictions in your combination. i suspect that youll have around 200 to 230 hp at the tires. i could be wrong and am waiting for the dyno results. come to think about it i havent seen any progress updates on your car lately. hows it coming along?
john i made 230rwhp with those heads on a 200000 mile stock sortblock and intake before the fresh-up brad
bryant getting ready to take it to my new hotrod garage sunday so i can install the new rollcage and finish it up for spring.moms letting me use her garage its insulated and heated and she dont own a car.just got a line on a set of hoosier quicktimes 255/60/15 on aero race wheels. when i get things done i will post. john
a beter intake and heads. also some 1.7 rockers. or you can slap a nitrous system on there and easly be over 300 hp
oh i see that he did it with the e7s. well definity a beter intake manifold will help and it depends on how worked the heads are.
brad knows alot more about the heads than i do maybe he will chime in again on this topic.what intake would you suggest victor jr. and maybe a 650 holly p.s. the nitrous scares me with my stock pistons but maybe on the stroker build
I'd say some roller rockers and a Performer RPM or Stealth intake and maybe a 650 carb(depending how well the heads are ported) would get you really close, if not right at 275hp.
jamie those heads are off of a 1985 mustang gt 302 h.o. motor.is that what your wondering about.i think they are the same as the e-7 heads
i think the 85 heads are e6. those have a larger combusion chamber that will lower the compession. Im not 100% on that. as for intake, i agree with the above recomendations.
i know there e-7s so they must be off somthing else i cant remember bradlygt would know i got them from him.so you think the stelth intake or the rpm one and roller rockers.
they would give you the best useable power band. a 600 cfm carb should be just fine up to 6000 rpm. dont be afraid of nitrous. be afraid of big doses of nitrous. you should have no problems with any power level up to 175 hp.
