How difficult/expensive would it be to put a 5 link in a Maverick? I can get a hold of a complete 9" with discs and a 3.55 posi for $400, but it's set up for a 5 link so I'm curious if it'll be worth it.

not enough support in the floor to hold the rear in would need a lot of metal added .plus it is probably to wide

Since you brought up the multi link rear I have always eyed the rear suspension in our LX platform Chryslers. 300,Charger,Challenger. Its a rear subframe assy. Pretty much a bolt in assy diff and all. I havent gone much further than think about it since I'm sure its too wide. A cool idea though to have Mercedes independent multi link and diff. HMMM wonder if it could be shortened??? If only it was that easy.

    Oh well.
If anyone wants to build a screamer and lives in the Utah area, here's a link.

When you say "5 Link" are you referring to 4 links forward plus a panhard bar?

the ifs in the 99-04 cobras would be a beter canidate. it uses an 8.8 so gear ratios and limited slips are readly avaiable. the lx platform diffs are very difficult to get different ratios for and expensive to get a limited slip for. i think width wise either setup will work with deep offset wheels. those lx platform cars look biger than they are.
