My car has broke down twice in the last month.

The first time the starter went bad and the teeth were all but gone, the flywheel looked.... fine, but im poor and coudnt replace it.

Now the starter and the flywheel arnt catching, and i might have to replace the flywheel now... which i do not have the money or time to do:cry:

The funny part is, that everytime it has broke down, the next day it is snowing hardcore, My car is perfectly fine on warm days, but it shuts down before it snows....

She doesnt like me driving durning the snow, shes watching over me:rolleyes:

The old car should be saved for the summer. Thats why they make newer junk so we dont feel the guilt of driving the good stuff in the salt. Sorry about your car anyway. I am not sure of what stock diameter flywheel a maverick takes but i have some around here if you know what size.

is it a stick shift or a automatic

if it's a stick then you will need a flywheel

if it's a automatic then you will need a flex plate witch is like 30 bucks

If it`s a standard tranny anflywheel is bad, you can replace the ring gear. Tap old 1 off, heat new ring in oven 350 for 1 hour an tap FULLY on flywheel. Always a good idea to have it resurfaced, at least lay a straight edge on it an check clutch area for wear.
