1975 ford maverick in process of having a 89 roller
Ok im curious on what a 1989 302 h.o roller needs to be fired up,i have the disturber and i was wondering does it take a coil or special stuff like im curious on how to do it, i have the motor and everything just don't know where 2 start with the disturber and stuff like that

#2 i have a 89 302 with twisted wedge heads, any specific header anyone knows of that will fit a 75 comet and work with those heads? and could i use my stock 302 starter from a 1975 302 i have a brand new one and was curious,

and #3 will a 1975 water pump work on my 89 roller motor, have a lifetime warranty one so im just curious on that aswell,

anyone find a website that sales billet grills for the maverick? also the running boards aftermarket ones,

the distributor will work but you will have to use a different gear on it

you will need a electric fuel pump because they dont have a spot for a manual pump

the intake will fit to and regular headers should work ( LOOK ON SUMMIT FOR THERE HEADERS FOR 110 SHIPPED ) and i have a set on my 72 mav

the water pump will work/// you cant use the stock one off of the HO motor because it is a revirce waterpump unless you ust the stock puleys and single belt

i think the starter should work

there if a guy that used to make the billit grill but i dont think he still is

well id like to keep the single belt pulley setup and use my 1975 water pump is it possible? the 1989 h.o that i got didn't come with a water pump, is there anything else id need with the fuel pump? just fuel pump hooked up to the line nothing else?

The 89 Distributor will not work without a computer to advance the timing. #2, yea, everything you asked about will work. #3, no the 75 pump will not work with the 89 timing cover, you'll need a pre 86 timing cover with a fuel pump boss to use the 75 pump and accessories.

the hedman 88300 are what i am running with my trickflow TW heads but i dont see that there is any difference for where the headers sit and think you could run the hooker 6901 or any of the shorties listed as usable on the site. the other pieces of your setup will most likely be the determining factor (manual vs stick, c-4 vs aod, etc) check it out under the search function.

If you have a 75 and It's a Duraspark setup, all you need is a reman 85 Mustang 5.0 HO (with manual transmission )distributor. This is the only application for a Duraspark distributor that's got a steel cam gear to match the roller cam. These units are available at your local parts house for around $60 with a core to exchange. Doesn't have to be the same core, just any Ford small block distributor will do. The new one will plug right into your harness.

there are only two ways to use that 89 distributor.
#1. keep it fuel injected. the distrubtor has no internal mechanical advance or vacuum advance.
#2. use a programable igniton box like the msd 6al-2 programable ignition to controle your timeing curves.

the cheapest way it to get the 85 distributor.

If yours has a vacuum advance on it, then it's not the EFI-TFI unit. You'll just need to verify it's got a steel cam gear on the shaft to work with the roller cam.
