Hello to all on forum... I have been reading about gas tanks/pricing for Mavericks, etc...And all jokes aside (which some I laughed out loud-so thanks) When my son left for Marines he had been given a 1971 Maverick 302 V-8 48k original miles.

The car, since I have been trying to fix up seems like a never ending money pit. I have 6k into it..to be honest-Im not sure if that's more than it's worth--Either way, my son has saved $ and wants new truck.

Therefore, can anyone by the pics "guess-ta-mate" what I can sell this car for? It has all new interior i.e. Headboard, floorboard, back and front seat has been re-upolsterd. Did brake conversion, new wheels, tires, and other than a gas tank (which it needs) lots of other stuff.

In fact, There is a 2.06 TV Interview regarding this car @ http://www.kltv.com (then search for Marine and Maverick). You can see the car up close, interior, and hear it.

Maybe-hopefully-someone can give me approx. price of what I can sell for.

    Thanks.

I would say right now, in this economy, you would be hard pressed to get the $6000 back out of the car you have put into it. Throw it up on ebay and see what it will do. I would think $3500 to $4000....maybe.

Sold.. :) Well, if you do have or get the cash I would sell for 6k. Not sure if you saw the video, but shop owner goes into more detail on repairs or upgrades to Maverick.

Never know...Thanks for your post anyways- Michelle

    Hi thanks for post.

Yea..your probally right on the lower value with economy like it is; however, even knowing that I would hope to get close to what I have into it. Too bad I cannot do repairs myself..This would have cut costs drastically. I suppose it's not fair for me to pass that on--Anyways if you know of someone interested (anyone) just know I would humor the idea of taking less.

    Thanks again.

Nice car and great story, I too have to wonder if the sentimental value will sneak in later in life and turn the sale into a regret. My grandfather gave me a 4 door Mercury Monterey that I parted with to get a muscle car, sure wish i had it back. Good luck with the decision/sale and thanks to you and your son for his service to this great country!
