I figure some might find this helpful this is a stock 11/16 maverick bar and a 64-66 mustang 1" addco bar. And YES it fits.It should fit a stock height or 1-2" drop with the mustang end links supplied. My car is 24" to the fender lip and i had to play with the end link height (used my maverick bolts instead of the mustang ones theres about 3/4" height diff between the two ) to get it were i wanted it at bar "level" at rest. bar part number 536 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ACO-536/ Now to decide on a rear bar diameter
The rear bar diameter should be about 2/3 of the front bar with the weight distribution on our cars for the same "neutral" handling characteristics. It the rear bar is as big as the front bar you are likely to encounter "oversteer" (the back end wants to get ahead of the front on turns). If it is too small then you will have "understeer" ( the front end wants to keep going straight in the turns). The driver and his habits have a great deal to do with how severe each situation is in actual operation.
haven't been here long enough to see this thread yet.. but I too would definately be interested in knowing who interchanged what product from what model into these cars.
He put the Addco 3/4" maverick kit on the back of his car. Unfortunitely they have a problem with cracking out the frame section. Mashori had to fix his because it cracked.. and I noticed that mine is cracked on the passenger side so here in a week or two I get too pull mine off and put some reinforcing plates on mine too. mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=70939
Do you think a rear sway bar really makes that much of a difference on these cars? I was talking to someone with a 68 Mustang, he put one on his car, and he said ,it made it feel twitchy.
Well Bro Im gonna play safe. With the kinda power Im sending back there Im gonna need some stabilization when things get squirly.
