has anyone worked with this before? I spent some times figuring it out but didn't get very far.

I want to set the retard for the nitrous I'm using. The wire is already hooked up and since I'm running 125hp shot I am guess I need to take out somewhere between 6-8 degrees out?

Just go to Data editor and where it shows step 1 retard high-lite what you want to change and change it. You do need to hook the box and computer up and link together first. This way you will be able to see what is actually in the box. Also save the preliminary download before you make any changes, This way you can put the box back to factory settings if needed. After changes made don't forget to send them to the box because it don't do it on its own.
If you want ill send you a file with ONLY the retard adjusted, Youll have to paste it into the 6530 files on the pro data software.

hey thanks for sending me the file. I was able to change the settings around using your template and so the MSD is now programmed. I set the max RPM to 5800, on a stock 302 that's still probably too high.

Do I need to lock out the distributor or take the vacuum advance off or can I leave those the same?

you should be able to leave those alone. unless there is a timeing curve programed in the msd.

That box doesn't offer a timing curve, You might be able to forge one if you had the map sensor hooked up. (time consuming) As long as you know where your timing is at when the engine is under spray you will be safe. If timing is locked out the fuel mileage and power will be compromised.
