Ah, one of the Get Smart cars.
The body shop that painted my Cougar has none at least 5 Opel GT convertible conversions for customers.

Vintage British automotive electronics were primarily Lucas designed and or supplied.

    Running jokes:

Why do they drink warm beer in England?
Answer - they have Lucas refrigerators.

Lucas is referred to as the "Prince of Darkness".

Not all Mavericks are as "Masculine" as yours. She would love a maverick with an Inline 6 and the plaid interior. I won best Ford at a car show because the judges were women and they loved the interior of my Maverick.

I'm not much of a Volvo guy but that one model of Volvo i love and think are great looking indeed. They had some magic going on when they designed that little number. Around here at the classic car shows they let them in in a heartbeat and some of them look fantastic and are done just right.:yup::yup::yup:

My wife had an 86 Fiero with the six cyliner. It was wicked quick!
Bunches of them are being turned into Lamborghini and Ferarri kit cars now.

I'm with the Capri and the Toyota Celica. The Capri had the 2800 cc V6 that was used later in the Mustang II's and Explorers. Tough German designed engine that is hard to kill and has plenty of power and fuel mileage was decent, too. Same thing with the Toyota. Tough 4 cyls in them. Both cars have good styling, and a smaller, easier to handle package. I'd stay away from the British imports. Between the Lucas electric systems and hard to find parts, nobody wants to work on them if she has a problem. The Capri and the Celica use parts mostly still available at any parts store. Oh,also, both were available with an automatic trans, if that is important to her. The British imports were mostly 4 or 5 speeds.

i just rebuilt a 77 celica motor at work. those cars are very easy to work. they also look like a lil muscle car. the one i worked on was all original paint and everything with 71'000 miles. looked brand damn new inside and out. absolutely amazing. orange with factory white stripes
