The Blue Suede Cruise In is April 30 thru May 2, 2010, in Tupelo MS. http://www.bluesc.com/ We had a great mini meet there last year. While only Blown 5.0 and myself brought Mavericks, there were a few board members who came, and some of Blown 5.0's friends showed up with some nice examples of blower cars. It's time to start thinking about this year. Saturday May 1st is probably the best day to get together somewhere for a couple of hours and show off our cars and talk Mavericks and Comets. I would like to hear some ideas for this year, some places possible to meet, etc. This is open to all Maverick and Comet owners and board members that will make the trip to Tupelo. It's just a short drive from at least Al, AR,TN,and MS, and not really that far from FL and GA ,LA, even western KY. You don't have to register for the Blue Suede Cruise to have a good time. We went last year and just checked out the show and the parade, and just driving around we got a lot of thumbs up! We plan on taking the motorhome and staying Fri and Sat. You don't have to bring a car, but it would be nice to see 10 -15 Mavs and Comets in one place! So, how about it? Give me some ideas!
Bumping this back up. Still want to hear if any of you guys and gals want to have a mini meet in Tupelo. Let me know....
Bumping this back up for those that may have not seen it. We are registered for Blue Suede, and will be staying at the Barnes Crossings RV park, Fri, Sat, and Sun morning.
4 weeks away! Still haven't heard from any of ya'll if you want to do meet and eat or something. Speak up or forever hold your peace about nothing ever happening close by!
OK, last time I'll bring this up. Starts Friday. Hope to be there by lunchtime Friday. Anybody that wants to meet up somewhere on Sat and maybe grab a bite to eat and talk Mavericks and Comets, shoot me a pm and I'll pm you my cell numbers.:Handshake Hope to see some of ya'll there!
I'm back! Had a great time between thunderstorms . 505 cars showed up, even with the bad weather. 3 Mavericks, mine, the black one Clay Dye had, now owned by Stephen Self [who along with his Dad originally built it, then traded it to Clay for a Camaro] , and a red one with a Grabber hood, didn't get to talk to him. Was good to meet up with 1 more gear and his wife again, sorry I got to talking to the old guy with the Mercury Monarch and ya'll got away before I knew it. I have a bunch of pics I'll post a link to sometime this week after I get them off the camera, got to go to work now so I don't have time to do it.
