Well after almost 8 months I finally have the '77 running again.
Thanks to Rando'76 I got a new head for the 250 for free. I got a valve lapping kit and spent the last few months doing a poor
boy's valve job. After alot of evenings of manually grinding the valves
and seats I got them cleaned up too my satisfaction. Got the head painted and just finished putting it all back together today.
It starts and idles good but I let the tags expire so I can't drive it
till payday next week. I just wanted to thank all of you that helped me
try and figure out the problem. When I finally pulled the old head the
seats were so worn the valves and springs could be turned and wiggled
while still in the head. Finances would not allow me to just have the head rebuilt. The quote was $650.00, hence the cheap way out.
Thanks Again to everyone on this board and especially Randy and Steve.

Well the good thing is that you did it yourself and you can put it on the road.

Great news! I can't wait to see it on the road again. If the weather will cooperate, maybe we can get the cars out sometime soon.

If I dared to, I'd drive mine from fayetteville. I need to try and see if the cooling problem is fixed.

You know Bob, I think maybe us Okie's should head your way
since you keep coming here. What do you think Randy?
Maybe meet in Siloam Springs, eat at the casino, it's pretty
    cool since they redid it.
