Wow, I didn't realize they were puttin out that much power. I don't feel so bad now. The Mav still ain't fast enough for my liking, tho.

I have raced a few people of late, and I have beat a 2010 mustang, and a new camaro, but it was close, very close, and these cars are the low cheap v6 models. Not the SS's, or shelby's. I haven't had an import beat me yet, I have had a minivan kick my ass once. lol.
And my mav is still slower then my 66 chevelle.
But one thing older cars do seem to have is more torq, and that can win races. I took my coworker for a ride last week, and she bought the new camaro, she was amazed at how fast my car was. Just because you could feel the torq a little more. Anyway, thats my two cents.

i have no clue, but stock 1.5 usually are safe to 9,000 rpm stock hardware. I would be surprised if he shifts at 12,000+.

The only way to run them rice burners is with a stick they couldnt pump an automatic. They spend thousands to get 350 hp from a 1.5l or what ever they are but where it really counts is the torque it may have high hp but only 20 ft lbs torque.( look like china man clapping lol)

HA, it will never be fast enough. Thats one thing I've learned over the years. I set out to have a stock 302 Mav this time. Right. Turns out my car ran an 11.89 on a 125 shot before I bought it. The nitrous isnt on it anymore and It gets along pretty good without it but I have this funny feeling a 125 kit may just sneak its way under the hood now I know it was built for it. I just wanted a cruiser this time around honest. Here we go again planning out trips to the track. :hmmm::drive:

    It's addicting isn't it?

Not to mention they get twice the milage during regular driving, kid of makes you sick a little.

Sound advice anymore. You see these idiots on you tube standing right in front of the cars on the side of the road wiating to watch. Good way to die! I have participated in the past, we were well outside city limits without people lining the "strip". Still not as safe as a track but the only people in jepordy were the ones in the cars (had blockers at both ends to keep traffic out of the way).

Tes sir, the new cars just don't seem to "plant" you in the seat like the old ones did.

well, I've got a 97 Cobra that will plant you in your seat, do 12.6's in the quarter through the mufflers and do 148mph in 4th (Silver States Classic) the Mustang's suspension was "as twitchy as a longtailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs" before I started, and now goes straight as an arrow during clutch side stepping and hold turns like it's on rails. The inside of the 4.6L DOHC has not been touched but the suspension and outside of the motor has.................no, it is not supercharged/turbocharged!
Now, with that said the Maverick is over 2 seconds quicker in the quarter, but won't touch the 23mpg I get on the freeway with the Mustang.

Speed cost money, and you can never have enough HP!

    IMHO

    http://www.d-series.org/forums/forced-induction/99043-danzs-90-civic-cx-built-11s-but-went-10s.html

This guy runs 10's on a OE head, OE Intake, OE Block(sleeves), OE 5 speed. I don't care who you are..... you have to respect that. And gets 38MPG's

that guy had 300WHP.... a maverick with 350RWHP wont get you into the 10's.

there's even a bunch of ford guys building these things :D

I have more respect for the diesel trucks than the import crowd. 29 psi? Geez, it's got no choice but to fly. As far as 300whp vs the Maverick with 350 whp, well duh:16suspect. The typical Maverick probably weighs 1,000 lbs more so of course it'll be slower.
Although there aren't any 10 sec imports around here in my little town, there's a few turbo'd Integras, some NOS'd Civics & such. And I get a huge kick out of watching 7500-8000 lb trucks (there's a pretty stout Duramax and a few modded Cummins/Powerstrokes around)hand them their a$$ on a regular basis:rofl2:.
I will admit(and respect the fact)that the little Honda engines seem to be durable under lots of boost. Probably more durable than your typical small block Ford/GM. Which is a good thing, because boost(or ridiculously high rpms) is what you need to make tiny engines produce any kind of power.
What that guy is running is impressive, but I can promise you that ANY car running tens will not be cheap;).
