This kinda falls under Maverick/comet talk...
I had started a thread a while back about shaving side markers off my mav (I'll post the link when I find it) and got the gist that it's highly illegal under federal law.
I was watching Overhaulin yesterday and they shaved the sidemarkers on what I thought was a 79 Nova. It turned out two tone purple and white if anyone has seen that episode... Does Overhaulin just not worry about the legality of the cars they revamp or do they know something we don't to get around that law? (really don't want those sidemarkers on the maverick lol)
(on a side note: the next episode was the overhaulin of a comet - why oh why? :slap:)

I'm filling mine, unless you're driving like a total jerk I think our LEO's have more important things on their plate than side markers. You also have to consider these cars are older than most LEO's so they probably wouldn't know the difference.

Not trying to steal the thread but I'm glad to see 'Overhaulin' doing a Ford product for a change. You'ld think that Chevys were the only thing they can do. Makes me dislike Chevys even more. :rofl2:

Those shows are 2-3 years old now, and most of the "Marks" as they call them, were inside guys that worked for suppliers..

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
According to Cali's laws 40% of my car would be illegal. Although i doubt that any cop would care.

Thank jebus for import guys..... they attract all the LEO's :D

When said and done the overhaulin mark still has to pay the taxes on the parts/materials. They can expect not to see the car for a year while it makes the show circuit as well...
