Have you looked at tie-rod before you stuck it in? There may be a hole just hiding. What kind did you buy? If they missed the hole,,, what else did quality control miss?

Sometimes the made in china specials don't have the holes. Made that mistake one time. Asked the alignment shop and they said it's normal. I think I checked the rod ends on that truck at least once a week 'till I sold it. Never did have any issues...

Now If I plan on keeping the vehicle more than six months I get Moog. (y)

I would contact rock an see what they say. Does local parts have these or are they getting to be rare aiuto parts? If not too pricey I would buy ones with holes n castle nuts, thats me. I dont think new school tech would be the fiber locking nut,, But I dont know,,,

The AN locking nuts will be just fine. The aviation industry has been useing em for a long time. Auto industry is useing em too, have been for about 10 yrs now. Removal can be a bear if the stuff gets rusty though.

The nylon loc-nuts will work fine. They've been making them that way for years now.Years ago I went to autozone do a warranty replacement on some tie rod ends, and thats what was sent.Never had a problem with them.If you feel uncomfortable using them you could always use some loctite, and a back-up nut.

I had that problem too.. it turned out i used a ball joint castle nut (i think) instead of the tie rod end nut, The nut covered the hole. when I put the other on the ball joint, the hole was beyond the nut totally. the big one is for the ball jt, the small one is for the tie rod.
