I went by there yesterday. They told me they don't have any Mavericks. Told me one of the guys that works there, has a Maverick. If they got one he would be all over it, cause he is looking for parts...

I talked to the guy on the right side of the counter, as you walk in. He blew me off, so I left. Didn't even get to walk thru the yard. Maybe we can get together & go.

Dave sounds like you had the wrong place . The counter is to your left when you go in and there are no signs saying what the place is .Also has a complete Honda Civic sitting in the office . Well I might take you up on your offer to check the car out . I called today and told the woman who works there I was still interested . She then informed me th owner wouldn't let it go for 550 but wanted 650 because he said the hood alone is worth 200 . I really wonder if it's really worth it ? I have pics but can't figure out how to post them ? I am really wondering if I should pursue this ? I need some more input please .

Wonder if you offered him 250.00 if he would sell the hood, spoiler and a few small parts, just an idea if 600.00 is to much, thats almost half that he wants for the whole car & he can get that out of the motor& trans

If that car has good cowls, torque boxes, and frame rails, I would say it is definitely worth pursuing, even if the floors have a little bit of rust. I'd say you are in the ballpark pricewise ... that car has the tough stuff ... mirrors, bucket seat tracks (even if they are LDO), hood, spoiler. He might meet you at $600, especially if you knitpick a bit. Bring a friend along who keeps trying to talk you out of it. It will put some pressure on the seller.

Ask if you can run some water through the cowl vents ... take a bucket with you, pour into both sides. It should all come out behind the front fenders. If any of it drips into the interior behind the dash, there is a cowl problem ... fixable, but a lot of work. If it does leak, get up behind the dash and get a better look. If is not totally swiss-cheesed and you still want it at that point... I would drop your offer to $450. (y)
