That was normal for these cars around here. Think of all the great interiors and mint dash pads we squashed with those rotten cars. Good luck on the build. I've seen what your up against and worse get completed and rebuilt in our body shop. Its do-able.
I will take the mint bodies over the trashed interiors anyday. I wud'nt even have to think abt it. BTW - the sun is the lifeblood of the planet. Can u say that for road salt?
I'm glad I found mine with out any rust and a good interior. The minor things are coming along nicely.
less than an hour south of you. about 15 min west of New Castle in a small town called Shirley( I'm the only one with a Maverick in this town )And Proud of it!
The people i bought it off of bought it july of 03 so that would be about right! it's a small world but maybe all remaining Mavericks will eventually end up on this site.
wow that there is some rust. but go for it man keep as many as can be on the road. i thought cars here in utah rusted out pretty bad but from being on the board here for around 8 years i now am glad all we get is rear quarters and floor pans rusting out on some of our pretty bad cars. i junked a 74 grabber with rusted out rear quarters and pans.
thats what they turn into here in the rust belt... its hard to find a solid car and we are not quite far enough north for perfect interiors as well so around here it would have to have been taken care of and in a garage for it to be a good car. we look at them and say parts car but with less and less good ones around more parts cars are being saved... just thinking of the sheet metal work the body guys have to do scares me ... I have had those bills before and now I won't start with a car that far gone if I can't do it my self. cheaper to have a good one shiped in (I>M>O>) but best of luck with the project glad to see another one saved... if you were closer to st. louis I would give you some of the stuff off my 77 parts car when i cut it up this spring.
