Look forward to the pics. I still have my high school car (71 Grabber) from 1975. She will be going through a ground up restoration this summer. Can't wait!
Here it was back in 1985, pay no attention to that Punk standing beside it. Here is what I built after it was gone. Here she is now, Really rough! Sad Tunnel Ram and 2 4's gone! Looks like some staggard injectors will be in order. Lots to do, just glad to own it again!
Its converted to five lug in the front but drums, I did that later after high school. Notice it still has my 1985 tag! The guy never tagged it, turns out it is still in my name after all these years! Crazy!
I Knew the guy I sold it too, he called and asked if I wanted to buy it back. I have been in touch for a couple years, he said he saved it for me. He was getting ready To part it out, I deccided I better get it back.
Cleveland Should be in good shape, Might need inspected. The guy I sold it to had a local race mechanic go thru it then test drove it 3 times and parked it in the shed and there it sets. The toploader was fresh then with a new clutch and new shifter. With any luck it will be solid. I have to keep the Cleaveland, it was to much fun to drive. It's pretty built and would lift the front off the line in the day, once I freshen everything it should be a blast.
I think the story is amazing. I sold my 73 Duster in 1979 and years later asked a local policeman to run the VIN for me. It came back as "not registered in the Continental United States". That was the end of that. I'm glad to hear someone actually had some success
Awsome story!! I bet every step of the restoration will bring back some memories.Keep us posted as the project progesses.
Thats an awesome story! Makes me wonder with the driver's side fender though....Hopefully the guy didn't do anything reckless with it!
WOW that is a great story, wish I could get my.. oops no last I saw my highschool mav the fron clip was pushed 6 inches to the passenger side, probably in an early eighties Buick century by now! LOL
