Roughly $52.00 each with my discount for Firestone FR380s. They are just a cheap tire but I'm just wanting to get it rolling for now so I can start working on it. I may get different wheels and tires later on. I have some new Torq Thrusts & Toyos I thought about using but I need those for my Cyclone.

Son of a buck! I got the tires in today and I swear they look like temp spares. They are tiny. The tread patch on the rear tires isn't even 6". My old 215s are HUGE compaired to these. I don't understand but they are going back. Gotta start all over. I guess tires are like clothes...the same size doesn't mean they are the same size. Looks like the car won't be rolling this weekend after all. :(

Exactly! Tire Brands tend to run large and small as a whole.

In the same size tire ...BFGs all tend to run a bit big.
Cooper and Firestone tend to run small.
Goodyear is in the middle usually.

That being said ... even within the same brand, different model lines of tire can vary. It sometimes comes down to how the tire is constructed vs. the minimum weight that size is spec'd to carry.

Dealers will have actual size charts available, and keep in mind that the sidewall width will change a bit if you are putting the tire on different rim widths too... very important if you are absolutely stuffing a car full of rear tire. In that case, it helps to have someone hold the beads open to the rim width, and physically measure the sidewall width to be sure.

I called them this morning and gave them the specs of my old 215s. They said the Firestone Indy 500 Firehawks are what I need. The thread on those is 7.0"...the tread width in the FR 380s is about 5.5".

215/70-14 is the smallest Firehawk avail so I'll use the 195/70-14 FR 380s I guess.

It all worked out finally. The Firehawks are the exact size of my old 215s. Nice and meaty on the stock Mustang rims. I'm getting ready to tape off and paint the rims (I would've done it before I mounted them but I'm in a hurry). Tomorrow I'll mount the fronts and have the old Mav rolling so I can start working on it.
