'71 302, running when pulled a couple yrs ago. complete from carb to pan, and it has a: D1ZM-6015-AA part number :thumbs2: :yahoo:

also scored a set of early 351w heads. were redone about the time the 302 was removed. screw in studs and guide plates installed, new valves, spring and retainers. (notice the factory part number on the guide plates)

Looks like a nice engine and all but what is so special about the D1ZM-6015-AA part number ?

Sweet:thumbs2: does the M in the code indicate that? by just looking at it... it does look like one...i can see the boss by the oil sender.

did mexican blocks ever come in stangs? i've heard they came in trucks and granadas.

I think its a combo of the "zm" that indicates it's a mexican block. I just go by the whole part number. And yeah, the boss in the front of the block is a dead giveaway

the mexican blocks came in alot of different vehicle lines, even mavericks. I had one this past summer from a '71 comet gt
