I am putting together a 351w with hypertectic pistons. I would like to run nitrous on it eventually. I was planning on a max shot of 150. I was wondering what everyone thought of this.

Why would you even consider this? If you're gonna run nitrous build the engine correctly with forged pistons to handle it. Some get away with it, many don't... The hypers don't like the pressure spike from nitrous and, if you're running KB hypers it takes a really wide top ring gap. Some years ago KB said they were developing a hyper nitrous piston, I think they gave up. That said, for about 13 years I ran a 125 shot with cast pistons using a Jacobs Nitrous Mastermind to babysit the engine. I personally don't care for hypers in any application, but definitely not with power adders.

I ran a Cobra crate motor for 8 years, Used 150 shot many many times. My buddy bought the motor and put 200,000 miles on it. It still runs good today. BUT i always had my timing correct.

I will probaly go ahead with forged pistons since its only about $100 more.
