after over a year of searching and following every lead I finally found a 8" posi with 3;80 gears ! It was just lucky I happen to see a add for mustang parts and there it was. $175.00 CHRISTMAS in march!
Congratulations Mitch, great find. I found a Mustang II third member with the 3:55 gears in it, but an open differential. The 8" trac locs are pretty hard to find...and usually harder to afford. I have a 57 Rancharo rear-end to put under my other Mav and a 9" trac loc with a 4:11 gear set out of a pickup, but am going to have to get 31 spline axles if I use it. Seems like it always comes back to money. lol Sounds like your project is going well, great job. I hope to have my 72 Grabber on the road in a couple of months. Just have to get the disc brakes installed on front and if I have time, I have a new engine to drop in it, otherwise will just use the stock original 2V 302 for a bit longer. Good luck! Farmall

Thanks all, just got back from the casino for crab leg/prime rib dinner and won enough to pay for dinner and half the third member! then went to wash the jag and they were closing and gave me a free $8.00 deluxe wash.Just my day!!Scared to see what may happen tomorrow. Better stay home.
