Went to a yard sale yesterday, picked up a set of wheels and tires for Deb's Mustang. 10 hole slots, just like what is on it now, with nearly new tires, too cheap for me to refuse! Same guy also has a V8 t-5, complete with bell housing, clutch and pressure plate, and I think he said he had a flywheel, too. Said he wants $350 for it all, is that a good price? He said was in good shape, came out of a Mustang he parted out. He's big into Fox bodies. I know I'd have to set up a pedal and all that, probably do like mashori and go the hydralic route. So is it worth $350 for a complete T-5, or would I be wasting money on a used tranny? Would be a while before I changed it over, so I'd end up sitting on it for a year or so.

Good v8 T-5s that are ready to go usually bring about $500 around here.

If it is a V8 one, yes, $350 is quite good. Get the tag number off it to be sure of what it is. There are several good decoding charts on the web.

350 is a steal if it's good shape.

You really will want a T5-Z.

This will break down the tag numbers.

I have heard that the preferred transmissions are 1989-1992 Mustang 5.0 and 300Hp or better with the 3.35 first gear.

Lots of information out there, google is your friend.
