They will fit a 351,...out of the car.Different ballgame when the engine is in there, and then you try to install them.
    BTW
Where are you pricing the 6901 headers?

The flange has the same bolt pattern - that is not the problem. The headers made for a 302 come out from the heads too far to clear the towers (lower than you can shave them) because the 351 is 2 inches wider than the 302. The early Mustang swap headers will not work on the Mavericks because the early mustangs have two more inches of width in the engine compartment than the Mavericks do.

In my 66 Muskrat coupe I have 2.5" from the head mounting flange to the nearest point of the towers with the 351 installed. That is the same clearance that I have in my Maverick with the 302 installed. there is no way (short of cutting the tubes at the flanges) that you can use a Mustang header in a Maverick. (unless you completely remove the shock towers and install a M-II front end)

they look nice. 300 bills you need to be sure they fit. ad reads sold as one unit. does that include left and right? spoke with a guy in pa. wants 200 per side for stock manifolds-NO WAY!

if your motor is not built to the hilt, you'll never notice the diff. but when you open the hood, people will look and say one of two things- who want to jack up the motor to change plugs? -or-that guyshould invest in some headers. to which you respond see you this eekend to change my plugs:rolleyes:

    possible header help

this is my first comet. its 72 comet gt, and i have been looking for headers too. lucky me i found some www.jegs.com 1-800-345-4545. maybe they can help? they also sell header kits and you weld your own bends and what ever ya might need to the header flanges. i just ordered mine for under a 130 bucks and that includes gaskets and studs. hope that helps.
