I installed my Hookers with the motor in, but d.s Mount loose installed from bottom up, not bad about a 5-6 Beer process.
anymore input on this? kinda hoping someone has done this , my motor is out of car n i was wondering if its any easyer to put them on the motor then sink it in or put them in from the bottum while the motor is in
Have to install them with engine in car but off mounts. Hoist it up about 3 inches then slip em in.They wont go in on the engine...Do a search on header installation on the forum...Plenty to read on this topic, many have done it.
You're going to have to put them in after the motor is in. I put the passenger side in first with the motor mount bolt in. Then put a board underneath the pan and jack the motor up enough to put the drivers side in. Let the motor down and put that sides motor mount bolt in. Hopefully you don't have power steering or column shift. You also need to have the car jacked up to turn the headers from underneath.
just put the headers in at the same time as the motor just don't bolt them up have them off to the sides as you drop the motor in and as for power steering you will have to buy a ram lowering bracket the ram is the thing that looks like a gas shock thats on the steering arm's under the car when i had power steering i bought the lowering bracket for a 67 ?? mustang not sure about the year // worked great
