Thinking of chopping my 69.5 to make a convertible

    Well folks my next mav project is my orange 69.5(71 grabber clone) ,i am going with a FEI 347 stroker with a T5 5 speed and black bucket interior .Im now thinking i should chop the roof off and make it also into a convertible,i have been talking with my bodyman and he says it will not be a problem for him,just something else cool for him to help build. I dont think there will be another in my whole country ,should i YES or NO.

    Thanks for the heads up Dennis:tiphat: after seeing all that work thats involved,i think ill pass on the convertible ,my balls are big but not as big as yours.:biglaugh: I like my projects to be started and finished in one year .I will addmit i bit off more than i want to chew here

    Not any more progress than is shown. But it is a project that I will finish if I live long enough. :D

    You can make a Maverick roadster pretty easily. But a working top is another story.

    I had a buddy who wanted me to help him build something different. I had an old Maverick parts car with a fair body so we discussed making it a conv. We came up with the 4 dr decklid solution to smooth up the rear profile. Then when talking about top irons we thought an early Mustang would be the way to go....then since the Maverick is a post....side glasses and top fit seemed like too hard of a problem.

    So he ended up building a 64 Mercury Comet Ranchero out of one of my Comet parts cars and a Falcon body he found. It looked cool but he never could find any Comet station wagon taillights to complete the look.
