    Hi Everyone!!!

Sweden has been cold for too long and I just took the Comet out of it´s winter hideout, Instead of embarking on a long story about weather and what I´ve been up to since last time I posted here, I need help with a very urgent question...

My brake lights come on if I push the brakes very firm/light, a little harder and they go out, if I step on it with all I got (not much some might say) it comes on again, when I switched master a while back I had to loose the plastic washer that goes through the rod, because if I left it in place nothing happened at all, no brake light... but as I took the pushrod of the switch again I forgot the plastic washer and voila there was light..

Now it´s working with a light foot without the washer, but not at all with the original washer...

    What is going on here....?

I´m in for inspection on friday and if I can´t fix this there will be no Red Comet roaring down the streets...

Ok, sorry for the long explanation, bare with me I´m swedish...

    Any help is much appreciated!!!!

    Robert.

On some cars, namely Mustangs and Cougars, there is a different brake light switch between manual and disc brakes. Causes a problem like you describe.

Are you sure that you have the proper switch?

To be honest I´m not sure, but how do I know, is there a way to tell or should I try to get my hands on a new one, is there a difference between years as well, I´ve seen from pictures that some of the switches have the connectors on top and some on the side..?

    Thank you very much!!!!!
