A philco 250 computer designed the Maverick, it was the first car completely designed by computer, I assume it was the stress points and what was needed for strength for the unibody and not things like the grille etc. I did a search once and found a picture of a philco 250 computer that was in a museum.
That's one awesome article. I had no idea Time magazine had archived articles online that were this old...
So Lee was the champion of the Maverick. Who was the designer? You know..the guy who penned the actual design, or was it the executive desiger/design studio as a whole? Just wondering because I was reading an artical on Vince Geraci, how he penned alot of designs for the big three...most notably stuff for AMC such as the 69 Rebel (which looks like a GTX) the Gremlin and the Perrie Cardin interior for the Javelin, which started the whole celebrity interiors thing. Remember the Levi's Gremlin?
At one of my old jobs, the bosses wife had an uncle that worked at Ford in Dearborn, he was a clay modeler there since the early 60's...I always wanted to ask him, but never had the chance....
