Ok, here is what i am after...
I want to have a column with no shifter or indicator. AND i also want it to be a 69.5 without the keyswitch. I know for a fact i can get my hands on one of each, a floor shift and a switchless column. My question is, Is there any way i can modify either column to have neither the shifter nor the switch? All i want is the turn signal and the hazards.
If I can in fact switch parts from one column to another, how would i go about doing so?? I really like the dash ignition for some reason and i still havent gotten around to getting my hands on a shifterless column when i went to floorshift.

Oh yea, and how would i wire the dash ignition?

    Thanks
    -Todd:)

The 2 columns are different and I'm pretty sure the non shift collar will not work on the keyless collar. I'd use the keyless one and just shave the knob off. Then wrap it with small gauge metal and put the seam on the bottom. Once painted, you'll never notice. Get the ignition switch from the 69.5 along with the wiring harness that plugs into the back of it. Chances are the color coding will be the same or close enough to figure it out.

A buddy of mine has a 69.5 Mav that was a 3 on the tree. He converted to floor shifted auto and all he did was pull the pin that holds the chrome shifter on the column and grind the rest off. Looks pretty good, cant help you on the wiring though his already had all of that. Like to know how it goes for you because I'd like to do the same thing to mine when ever I get around to working on again.

The 69.5 Column for a three on the tree is extremely rare. I am leaving mine a three on the tree just to keep it original. The arm inside breaks off and being it is made of pot metal there is no way to weld it back. If ANYONE has one for a 69.5 that is not broken and not been shaved off I am interested in obtaining it. If someone does have on that the arm inside is cracked or broken maybe since there would be no tension on it just sitting there I could figure a way to reattach it and grind the boss of just to use on the conversion cars. Please let me know if you have one and would be willing to work with me on not grinding it off just if I can find some that are usable. Thanks Kelly

Kelly, I have one that will be stripped hopefully sometime in Aug. Check back with me around mid month.
